What are The Big Thing’s (TBT) goals?

  • Make it easier for people to succeed
  • Make that success sustainable
  • Make it easier for funding organizations to place their money effectively

How are we doing this?

Our constituents are capable and motivated people who want to live sustainable lives, and can, if only they knew the steps to follow.  Motivated and capable adults currently in need of charitable or governmental subsidies often need a path through the myriad services and products available to them, so that they can achieve a life where subsidies are no longer required. We call this a ‘sustainable life.’  And where there is no such path (gaps) we plan to expose the gaps to funding organizations such as governments, large foundations and even private, for-profit organizations.

What exactly are our methods?

TBT is building a software system that creates what we call Social Services as a Service. It’s a software platform that allows us to model the current state of the person in need, the services and products available, and build a path through those services that leads to a sustainable life.  More specifically, the system: 1) Models a person’s current state, much like a social worker does an assessment, including assets, capabilities, and needs (in our case, for a sustainable life); 2) Finds and models governmental / NGO / for-profit services that a person must obtain to meet their needs; 3) Finds a path through the services that the person can follow to meet their needs; 4) Identifies gaps in the current services / products that may prevent a person from obtaining a sustainable life; 5) Advertises these gaps to funding organizations and private industry.
